We‚re looking for an on-site, full time GIS Developer with a minimum of 2 years experience for a position located in Lakewood, CO.
Responsibilities will include design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software applications and programs/scripts/tools supporting a wide variety of client-specific applications and programs, such as The National Map. Build new custom applications to automate procedures and specialized tasks. Diagnose problems associated with GIS programs, scripts, tools, procedures, systems, and applications. Develop, recommend, and implement effective, efficient, innovative, and timely solutions to support customer GIS development needs. Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to internal and external customers on issues regarding GIS development as well as associated hardware, software, procedures, and associated geospatial data.
The successful applicant will be expected to provide technical analyses and consultation in the area of geospatial data development, applications, integration, and analysis.

* ESRI suite of products (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ArcObjects, ModelBuilder, JTX)
* Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008, .NET, C#, VB, VB6
* XML: schema definition, data validation, transmission, manipulation, querying and using as a data source
* Oracle Databases, SQL
* GIS Database Design
Desired Knowledge and Skills
* Oracle RDBMS
* Map Services (KML, WMS, WFS, GML)
* Web-based viewer technologies (Google Earth/Maps, ESRI JavaScript API, Web Services)
* Perl, Python
* Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) methods and practices
* Terrago suite of products
* USGS-specific data formats (NHD, NED, Best Practices, DRG)
* GIS concepts, such as dynamic segmentation and linear referencing
Qualified candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, GIS, Geography or related discipline is required. Minimal travel is expected for this position. The successful candidate must be able to obtain or already have an active federal security clearance in line with all Federal government requirements.
This is a GIS Development position, not an analyst position.
