We are looking for an on-site full-time contract Oracle Database Administrator with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Lakewood, Colorado.
Responsibilities will include performing Oracle RDBMS administration, resource management, and performance analysis and tuning on database systems and related components to ensure optimal performance and maximum availability. Apply industry best practices to ensure that all Oracle and related software, patches and upgrades as well as associated applications are installed, configured, tested, integrated and maintained thoroughly and in a timely manner. Manage database structures, physical storage allocations, system/user accounts, software licensing and archival/backups. Ensure that all hardware, software, services, and applications meet government and industry security standards and are secure. Design both new and modified databases utilizing CASE technology. Assist in the migration of databases from one geographic site to another. Modify existing Oracle database system implementations. Monitor and update work-order tracking database. Administer and develop spatial data management applications using ESRI‚s ArcSDE software and associated tools. Respond to user inquiries and issues.

Qualified candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline is required. Minimal travel is expected for this position. The successful candidate must be able to obtain or already have an active federal security clearance in line with all USGS requirements.
